2008 Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games

From February 26th to March 1st, 2008, Quebec City will be hosting the Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games. This will mark the first time the Games will be held in the province of Quebec.
The Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games are a major sporting event that will bring together over 900 Special Olympics athletes, coaches, as well as official delegations from two territories and all the provinces of Canada. Special Olympics athletes will be competing in the following winter sports: curling; snowshoeing; alpine skiing; cross country skiing; floor hockey; figure skating; and speed skating. The 2008 Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games will also be part of the 400th Anniversary celebration of Quebec City.
Special Olympics athletes competing at the 2008 Special Olympics Canada National Winter Games will have the chance to qualify to represent Canada at the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Boise, Idaho, USA. For more information please visit http://www.2009worldgames.org/
