Lenovo Sponsorship Launch
On Thursday January 17, 2008, Special Olympics Canada’s newest partner, Lenovo, commemorated the accomplishments of Mr. Russell Gerber, 2007 Special Olympics Team Canada powerlifter, at the Lenovo Light the Passion Share the Dream ceremony at the Allen Lambert Galleria, in Toronto.
Lenovo became a partner of Special Olympics Canada in August 2007 and supported Mr. Gerber as a member of Team Canada attending the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games, in Shanghai, China. Mr. Gerber won four gold medals in China, and at the Lenovo Light the Passion Share the Dream ceremony, he shared his experience with another Canadian world class athlete, and Lenovo sponsored champion, Mr. Adam van Koeverden. Mr. van Koeverden will represent Canada in the sport of kayaking in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.
The event featured an inspirational video of each athlete's sport performance, followed by a question and answer session hosted by Mr. Rod Black, CTV and TSN Sports host.
